There are many things that people claim that stylists love
their clients doing; when in reality, stylists hate it.
Many people have their hair styled for prom or their wedding
r whatever big events that happen in their lifetime. The number one thing I
have to deal with is people coming in with unwashed hair, it’s both annoyed and
pretty gross. They say that the dirtiness helps. Where that is true, I would
prefer to dirty it up with my nice smelling products rather than your stinky
grease hair that leaves me running to the bathroom to wash my hands but still
can’t the smell out of them. Luckily if it’s not on site and in the salon I can
simply wash it out.
Another thing people do is stay quiet. They don’t want to
offend the stylist so instead they go home hating their hair. There are many
beautiful styles out there, you don’t have to love all of them, but you do have
to go home loving your hair, otherwise your stylist is left wondering why she
never gets to see you again. We want to get to know you and your preferred
style; so please, speak up.
The last myth about stylists is that we just tell you lies
to spend more money. We actually care about your hair and want it to get
better, besides haven’t you ever hear that it is cheaper to keep a client than
to get a new one. Why would we do stuff to your hair that won’t help? You would
not come back and we would be broke. It’s in both of our best favors to tell
you the truth.
On a side note I just read the worst blog in the world
called the 15 Ridiculous Hair Myths You Need to Stop Believing. I couldn’t get
past the first myth it was ridiculous! She stated that trimming your hair won’t
help since it grows from the root and not the ends. PLEASE do your research
before posting things for the entire world to see! Yes it obviously grows from
the roots and not the ends, but if you don’t stop those split ends from
splitting then they will go all the way up and never stop. All that beautiful
hair that you’re growing will just keep slitting at the length of your hair if
not shorter. If you don’t stop those split ends then they won’t stop splitting
all the way up the hair shaft. I tried reading further but most myths were
obvious and then I got to number four...and I’m done. The lesson is to do your
research first. Don’t take a bloggers word until you have double checked the
information yourself, or talk to your stylist, they went to school and got a
license, they certainly know what they’re talking about. Here are some better ways to keep your hair healthy.
