If you’re anything like me then you get bored with having
the same hairstyle and you like to change it up but you may not be entirely
sure what is work or interview appropriate. Let me start with something that is
pretty straight forward, unless your hair lays naturally all day everyday then
style it in some way or another. If your hair is curly then help it out with
some products and curling any limp sections. If your hair is stick straight then
it still creates kinks around your shoulders and you end up looking like a
three year old who wouldn’t let their mom style their hair. Get some product
and at least straighten out the hair and lightly hairspray it in place.
In interviews, please keep your hair out of your face, it is
a habit for most women to move it out of their faces each time it falls in
front of their face. Keep it out of your face with a bobby pin, a very slight
hair bump, half hair up-half hair down style, a bun, or a French twist,
anything to keep your hair out of your face. The most important thing is to
keep it simple. Do not poof it, back comb it, tease it, or whatever you want to
call it, too much. You’re not going to prom so don’t make it look like you are.
Once you have the job you don’t need to worry about keeping
it out of your face too much, but all of the other rules apply. Good luck with
the new job!
